August 27, 2015 Wellspring

Reflecting on the past and planning for the future are more fun when done in a beautiful, natural setting like Heartland Center!

As summer is ending and autumn approaches, it is a new season for many organizations and businesses. Here at Heartland, we are shifting gears after the many happy campers we had this year, and changing the focus to retreats and conferences.

For schools and colleges as well as many youth programs and churches, it is time for reorganized classes and a new curriculum. If you are training new teachers, trying new methods or building new goals and teams, what better way to accomplish that than a getaway close to nature and away from the hustle and bustle of daily life?

For training of new employees, organization of work groups or team building and brainstorming, a retreat might be just the thing. And we have  the ideal place for you! Here you can relax, refresh and reflect on what your group has accomplished, and how you can achieve future goals.  Where better than in God's natural world, listening to the sounds of the outdoors, walking the grounds or sitting around a campfire or the fireplace?   Consider bringing your group to Heartland Center where we have hotel-style rooms as well as lodges and retreat houses.  Most weekends are full, but there are many week-day openings for August through the winter.

We are excited to report that camp attendance was up this year, with 2,555 campers participating at Heartland Center as well as at numerous Traveling Day Camp locations. These campers were blessed with a God-filled experience of learning, fellowship and spiritual growth; and we give thanks to all who made this possible!

People are saying...

Another great week at camp. We were able to give two Bibles to children who didn't have them.
Parents related daily how much their children were telling them about the Bible when they got home at night and how eager they were to read it.
One of our church members was able to provide a camp scholarship to a child of a missionary family and he made a close friend during camp.
A preteen girl from a blended family who has been experiencing a serious depression was the happiest she has been in a long time, and never wanted to leave at the end of the day.
Grandparents who enrolled their unchurched grandson in camp reported how he was changed and started carrying around a New Testament that the grandfather had carried during his military service. Seeing the child read the Bible brought his grandparents to tears.
I know that you know God is at work in all that you do and that you see lives changed. . . I want you to know the reach that your ministry has on people beyond the campers. Your team are such a blessing and I am so grateful for all that you do and for the blessings you have enabled me to witness."
